![]() ![]() So far the only one sorta thing that could be changed is that there is no saving at all.ĭying means its over and you gotta start again from zero.Īfter each dungeon you can optionally choose to save and go back to main menu,īut you can only load your saved game once and then itll be gone. The maiden's attacks are even similar-ish to the one from disciple in heretic Totally looks like the disciple, my fave enemy from heretic! <3 There's also another (sorta but not really) familiar face from heretic: Well, almost at least! but he sure does remind a lot of the boss from heretic Its great that every time you start a game everything is random so the game feels different and new every time,Īlthough obvious sometimes it means you can get really powerfull weapons and other times. The bird enemies are fun, and the shrooms look fun.Īnd the carrot-like mandragora enemies are just hilarious to see Good to finally have a good fantasy fps again in the vein of hereticįave weapons so far are the firestorm grenade (bombs away!) and the green staff which is also shown in the top pic seven posted, for obvious reasons (serpent staff!) Like all the enemies and the weapons are great! Got it and been playing it quite a bit, a lot of fun so far! Here are some screenshots showing some of the new weapons and maps: Ziggurat Early Access PC Game Review - YouTube Keep in mind, this clip is an Early Access (beta !!) version, which has been updated 16 times in the meantime !! Including more weapons, more monster classes and bosses as well as a lot more maps/episodes… The below clip is a commented Early Access (beta !!) review (I highly recommend to watch the complete clip):Īll intermissions and even the names/descriptions of the characters and monsters remind a lot of Heretic wordings. The game itself is very cheap (only 11 $). Finally a new fantasy-themed shooter which is surely worth a look !įind more infos, screens, clips and a test about it here and hereĪll tests I have read so far are very positive…. So, all in all a really promising new game, in this boring world of always repeating modern first person shooters types. ![]() Once you played through some areas, the game unlocks other player character/types (like Hexen). You can then decide which way to develop by choosing skills. It also has some RPG influences: You gain experience by killing monsters and solving maps, which leads to level ups. It seems to be a bit like Painkiller with its monster hordes though, but I am not sure. I cannot say much about the gameplay itself yet. The maps themselves are randomly generated (which is good for replayability). There are several trap types in maps as well (I love the lava traps). The ambience is fantasy with dungeon, medieval castle type maps and a really dynamic and living world (with water(-falls), flying leafs, smoke, fog, etc). I love the particles and cool effects of this game. The graphic has a cartoonish touch, like Torchlight. The minions are a mixture of well-known Heretic/Hexen minions and some new cool ones as well as some weird ones, like "carrots" (?!) The game itself is a mixture of these games: It is clearly influenced/inspired by Heretic, its cover reminds a lot of Heretic and even several in-game texts mention D´Sparil and his hordes/riders/minions. ![]() There is a new game available called: Ziggurat ![]() I was thinking that people who like Quake, might also enjoy games like Heretic/Hexen, so I would like to post this thread here. ![]()
